Licenses

Licensing is an integral part of software-use. This page will detail what is allowed and what is not allowed for each type of license.

License Overview

The following table is an overview of what is allowed and what is not allowed - key differences between Regular and Extended.

Regular

Extended

Number of end products 1 1
Use in a single end product
Use in a free end product
(more than one end user allowed)
Use in an end product that's sold
(eg. SaaS or 'Software as a Service').

Regular License

The Regular License grants you, the purchaser, an ongoing, non-exclusive, worldwide license to make use of the digital work (Item) you have selected. Under this license, you cannot charge your customers to use the service you provide them via the software. This means no SaaS (Software as a Service) allowed. Your customers must be able to access your site for free. To be able to charge your customers, you will need the Extended license.

What is allowed

  • Create one single End Product for yourself or for one client
  • License can be transferred
  • Modify and manipulate the software

What is not allowed

  • You cannot sell the End Product, except to one client
  • You can't charge your users to access the product
  • You can't use the item more than once
  • You can't re-distribute the item
  • You can’t use an Item in a logo, trademark, or service mark

Extended License

The Extended License grants you, the purchaser, an ongoing, non-exclusive, worldwide license to make use of the digital work (Item) you have selected.
